When the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020, everything suddenly changed. Schools were closed, classrooms were empty, and students had to stay at home. Many students felt confused and worried because they did not know how they would continue their studies. Even though schools were closed, education did not stop. It just changed its way of teaching. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) became very important during this time. In the Philippines, the Department of Education created the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan so students could still learn even during lockdowns. Thought about ICT

ICT tools and platform have changed how people communicate. Before, people talked face to face or used letters but now, people use mobile phones, social media or any platforms to communicate quickly.People can talk to family and friends anytime, even if they are far away. Through social media, it is easier to know and get information about what is happening in the world, such us issues in our government and other matters. ICT helps students study online and helps people work from home and also helps communities during emergencies by sharing important news. So for me ICT makes communication faster and easier. It helps people connect, learn, and help each other in many ways.

It’s not “just a joke” or “harmless fun.” Every hurtful comment, every cruel message, every act of exclusion can slowly destroy someone’s sense of worth. Emman’s voice, through her story, calls for awareness for us to look deeper and see the truth behind people’s smiles. We must understand that kindness costs nothing, but it can mean everything to someone who feels unseen. Let her story be a wake-up call for everyone who has ever laughed at someone’s pain, stayed silent when others were being bullied, or used words carelessly without realizing their impact. We can’t take back the things already said,...
